Ghosts Contributor Barfly – Album Art for Mr. Hill featuring the old Cha Cha

The Ghosts of Seattle Past proudly presents a sneak peek at an art piece submitted by Seattle artist Barfly to our anthology.

Says Barfly: “This is my album art homage to the Cha Cha Lounge, still alive and kicking in a different location, albeit never quite the same place as the old location in the demolished and rebuilt 500 block of East Pine. That place was a real favorite of musicians from the area.

The album art was for a solo instrumental record independently released by Seattle hip-hop producer Mr. Hill (Grayskul, Nite Owls, Oldominion, et al) and it is modeled after the Beach Boys’ Smile album cover, with the Cha Cha taking the place of the storefront in the art.”

RIP old Cha Cha, and thank you for sharing your memories and whipsmart art homage, Barfly.
